Wee's Print & Paint

Need something printed and/or painted to a high standard?

Consider using my services to create bespoke items, painted to a high quality.

Chopper

Painting

Are you looking to flesh out your Warhammer armies, or create that perfect DnD character? I can provide a high quality painting service that is generally cheaper than the big name competitors.
Of course this means turnaround may be slower, as I don't have a team working with me, but that doesn't mean I can't deliver great quality painting jobs.

3D Prints

I can 3D print in FDM or Resin, as long as the model exists somewhere (and assuming you have the owners permission to print it) I can make it happen, large or small.
If you want detail, I suggest using Resin, as it will produce much clearer details especially on smaller items, such as wargaming miniatures.
For prototyping or functional parts, you would best use FDM as the plastics can be more robust and flexible.

Services

Resin Printing

For smaller busts and miniatures where you need every detail to show through, this is the choice for you.
I am currently using ABS-like, which is a bit more robust and less brittle than some other Resins on the market. Depending on how much you cure it can determine if it retains some flexibility or if it remains solid.
It's not a recommended material for anything that is likely to be functional, nor is it viable for use as kitchenware, utensils or medical apparatus. I only suggest using Resin Prints for things that are mostly for display purposes, such as high detailed miniatures, busts, logos, placards etc.

FDM Printing

Currently not available.
For prototyping, functional or mechanical parts you may want to consider FDM Printing.
I am currently using ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene), which is a robust but flexible plastic filament.
It is great for prototyping but can also be used to print enclosures for electrical or electronic assemblies, sports equipment, parts for the automotive industry, or the medical sectors. Indeed, this is an ideal material to manufacture low-cost prototypes and architectural models for engineers or research departments, as well as to create low-cost cost medical prostheses or material handling equipment. Many plastic end-products can be manufactured using ABS material.

Painting

I can do almost anything, from basic paint jobs to something a bit more complex. I'm willing to give anything a go.
If you're looking to build a Wargaming Miniature or even a full army but don't have the time, the tools or the skill, give me a shout and we'll see if we can make it happen.

The Process

3D Printing

There are multiple steps when it comes to 3D Printing, each of which take time and resources. While I aim for low prices, it is important that you understand why something may appear to be more expensive than you thought it would be. These include;
  • Time spent with file - This includes making a 3D model ready for print, such as editing the model and applying support structures.
  • Cost of materials - This is the easiest one to calculate, as most programs will give an estimate and is generally the cheapest part of making a print. I charge for material used + £4.
  • Time spent cleaning up the end product - This part of the process can be fairly easy or fairly complex, depending on the level of details and the kind of finish you require.
  • Cost of shipping .

Assembly

The assembly of an item (I'm referring to miniatures specifically) is generally straight forward but can require some time and patience. Things included in the assembly price are;
  • Cutting off of Sprues.
  • Removing mold lines and artefacts.
  • Adhering pieces together (Plastic Glue for plastics and Super Glue for Resin).
  • Filling in gaps (I will use wide array of products for this, from wood filler to Milliput).

Painting

I love to paint, but it is important that you understand what a skilled and time consuming process it is. As with all the services I offer, I try to be very competitive and accommodating to peoples needs and budgets. However, it's going to require a good amount of time investment.
A single model may take anywhere from 2.5-6 hours or more depending on the size and complexity. What most paint jobs entail below;
  • Priming
  • Zenithal Highlight
  • Base Coat
  • Dry Brush and/or Wash
  • Layer Coat/Touch up Base
  • Panel Lining/Shading
  • Gloss Coat to seal
  • Matt Coat (if necessary)
